Aftercare and Follow-Up
When it comes to aftercare, these 2 products greatly help client healing and retention.
You can put a capful of ink soap into distilled water and buy disposable foam soap bottles and a healing lotion and gift it to your client with aftercare instructions so they come back with great retention. Remember, good retention helps your business as other potential clients will look at your work and be amazed at how well the brow holds up over time.
You want to explain aftercare instructions to your client before finishing up your appointment. Remember, it is your job to make sure they understand how to properly take care of their brows.
Taking care of the brows post appointment will take 10 full days.
Your client must avoid sweating, sun exposure and (makeup and skincare on the brows/forehead)
DAY 1-7- Brows will settle in and get dark. Some clients enjoy the dark phase, others do not. If your client starts to worry, encourage them to wear a hat, sunnies, or some makeup from the eyes down. Lashes and lipstick are a great start
DAY 8-10- Brows will start to lighten up and fade anywhere from 10-20%
- During these 10 days the brows will peel, itch, scab and flake. Ask clients to avoid picking or pulling as it can result in uneven/patchy brows
Brows can take 30 days to show full results of faded, shrunken size
The night after your client leaves, have them wash their brows, rinse with water, and blot before putting a grain size amount of ointment on each brow. They cannot put too much ointment on as it can clog the brows from breathing and cause an infection. LESS IS MORE.
The next 10 days, have your client do this 2-3x a day.
How can your clients take even better care of their brows even after the 10 days of healing?
- Remember, the better your clients take care of their brows, the longer they will last so you want to encourage them to take these precautions
- Avoid direct sun exposure- wear a thin layer of oil free sunscreen directly on the brows after they are done healing
- Absolutely no Retinol products above the eyes
- If you have a very active client who is a loyal hot yogi, runner, hiker, encourage them to purchase an all natural cleanser and wash their brows right after their workouts to get rid of built up sweat and oils in the brows.
